Personal
Education : A Ball State University graduate, Ben has continued to pursue various trainings in recent years on topics that interest him. These have included an intensive grant-writing seminar series (2017), the Community Economics and Leadership Program through Purdue Extension (2018), the Indianapolis Thriving Neighborhoods Challenge (2018), and a local government finance forum (2019).

Professional Experience : Ben has worked for much of the last nine years with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (most recently serving for three years as the Chief Communications Officer). He is currently in his first year in a new position with the Corporate & Public Affairs team at Citizens Energy Group.

Political Experience : Ben has served as secretary and grantwriter for the past three years on the Beech Grove Parks Board
this has provided invaluable insight into how to unlock outside funding for city infrastructure projects by coordinating with external agencies and best organizing planning efforts.
